Interactive Remote Demonstrations (IRD)

Photo: Live Demos at 2022 Totally Turning 6Several people have asked me about IRDs.

Sorry, I don’t do IRDs.

I looked into IRDs and concluded that I would be lucky if I was able to break even on paying for the cost of setting up a basic acceptable IRD system with 2-3 cameras, etc. I would run out of topics to demo before I payed for the system, etc. It just does not make sense to me.

I personally think that the AAW should organize the world so there is a IRD center in each region. A place where demonstrators can go to do an IRD. They have all the video equipment and lathes at the IRD center. Like they do at a live symposium. But, alas. I think this is a pipe dream.
